Combined Dyslexia & Dysgraphia Assessments
For Children, Adolescents and Adults
Are reading, spelling and handwriting taking more effort than they should? Our combined dyslexia and dysgraphia assessment explores these difficulties together, helping you understand what is getting in the way and what support could help. We offer appointments in Fleet and Farnham, welcoming clients from Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex.
Who This Assessment Can Help
This assessment may be helpful when reading or spelling difficulties occur alongside slow, unclear handwriting or difficulty getting ideas onto paper. Dyslexia and dysgraphia can occur together, but writing difficulties can have different causes. A thorough assessment helps build a clearer picture of individual needs.

The Assessment Process
1. Before the Assessment
We begin with a consultation and background questionnaires to understand your concerns, learning history and previous support. For children, we also gather information from school to understand how difficulties affect everyday learning.
2. Face-to-Face Assessment
The assessment explores reading, spelling and handwriting, alongside relevant learning skills such as memory and processing. We consider strengths as well as difficulties, with a supportive approach, breaks when needed and time to ask questions.
3. Detailed Report and Follow-Up
You receive a clear written report explaining the findings and personalised recommendations for support at home, in education or at work. A follow-up consultation gives you time to discuss the results and understand the next steps.
Why Choose Hampshire Dyslexia?
Your assessment is carried out by Dr Grace Elliott, a qualified Specialist Teacher and Assessor, former SENCO and former Professional Practice Manager at the British Dyslexia Association. Her approach combines specialist expertise with practical recommendations, helping you understand not just the difficulties, but how to support progress.
